Greek government bets a lot on the positive side of the economy

The Greek government hopes for a successful outcome of the negotiation with the troika in order to reverse the negative climate both in the Greek society and within the two parties of the coalition.
 
The Greek government insists and the negotiation with the troika is delayed, however, it believes that the new data on the state of the Greek economy will bend the auditors’ objections. The Finance Ministry says the primary surplus will be higher than originally anticipated, that it will exceed 1.4 billion euros, while there will be improvement for the first time in a number of economic indicators, showing that Greece leaves the recession behind and enters a recovery phase.
 
"We will soon know about the timing of troika’s return, in my opinion there should be no gap between the two sides," Venizelos said after yesterday's meeting with Samaras. Venizelos added that the Greek government’s objectives are the exit to the markets and getting rid of the troika.
 
The Greek government responded late in the discussion about the Greek economy. "The meeting between Schäuble and Moschovisi is not negative," it says, while regarding the report of the Ministry of Finance of Germany for a new aid package it said it is positive if they do not ask for fiscal measures but only structural ones and acceleration of privatizations. The government will maintain the optimism generated by the positive news and the prospect of recovery.
