Mitsotakis: We will find out the causes, we will do everything in our power to prevent it from happening again

By decision of the Prime Minister, a three-day national mourning is declared for the victims of the Tempi train accident

Newsroom March 1 01:06

The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, arrived shortly after 12:00 at the scene of the tragedy where the two trains collided in Tempi.

After being informed about the progress of the investigations, the Prime Minister, visibly moved, said that “what we are experiencing today as a country is very difficult. We are talking about an unspeakable tragedy. Our thoughts today are first and foremost with the relatives of the victims. Our duty is to treat the wounded and to identify the bodies. From there on, one thing I can guarantee: we will find out the causes of this tragedy and we will do everything in our power to prevent something like this from ever happening again”.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis was in constant communication with the coordinating center and the relevant ministers from the first minutes of the deadly train collision in Tembi.
