The PM said Greece would not be bullied

Newsroom September 23 11:07

In his opening remarks, Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message against authoritarianism and referred to the EU’s clear position in favour of Ukraine after the Russian invasion. “It is imperative that the Russian invasion does not succeed, in order to send a message to other authoritarian regimes,” he underlined.

He then referred to the energy crisis from the war in Ukraine, saying that Russia is using natural gas as a weapon. “We have to become independent of Russian gas,” he noted, stressing that the government will continue to support the citizens.

Greek PM Kyriakos Mitostakis blasted Turkey for its revisionist agenda in his speech at the UN General Assembly. He said that he will never compromise on Turkish threats in the Aegean Sea. “Greece will not be bullied”, he said.
