Credit to Papandreou from President Papoulias

Erzurum, Europe and a state of social benefits were the main issues discussed at today’s meeting between the President of the Democracy Mr. Papoulias and the Prime Minister.

 The President asked for more information on the Erzurum meeting between Papandreou and Erdogan. The PM mentioned that there were intense efforts for friendlier relations between the two countries aside from the well-known provocations and difficulties.

 “Your position was crystal clear” said Mr. Papoulias “Yes, that is true, something which I think is imperative for a relationship of mutual trust” replied Mr.Papandreou.

The PM also mentioned that there is an ongoing battle for a more substantial economic policy in Europe. He also stated that in Greece we cannot forget the welfare state and the government is focusing on it.

The PM ascertained that “united we will make it” at the end of the meeting.
