The bars are lifted all over Greece

The members of the movement against tolls organize a rendezvous in the national highways, by lifting the bars in the entire network from Thessaloniki to Tripoli! The protests start at 3pm and will stop at 5pm.

This protest shows the enraged reaction of the citizens to the continuous increases of the fares, a culmination of which is the recent indexations up to 0,60 cents, adopted by all the contractors.

With the motto «They’re afraid of us, we’re not afraid of them the committees of the struggle are asking the drivers to resist the hikes of the big contractors and declare ready to confront them in courts for the legality of the tolls.
 
Talking to NET 105,8 the vice minister of Infrastructure, Giannis Magriotis, said that negotiations with the contractors will start immediately to decrease the toll rates and indirect taxes that raise the price.
