From theory to practice… The sealing of 6 businesses for 48 hours, following tax evasion audits, was only the beginning as they say in SDOE. The candidate list is endless, since every day brings forth other known names from the entertainment and nightlife business.

The nightclubs and the relevant professions enter the list first.

A total of 770 inspections at nightclubs and bars reveals that just 97 showed an annual turnover of more than 80,000 euros. 311 have declared night wages of 15.000-18.000 euros per year, while the majority (361) are confronting the phantom of… bankruptcy with an annual revenue of even less than 15.000 euro per year!
 
Accursed poverty!...

Officers that are handling the Elenxis system are already organizing the next raids by tax authorities, depending on the income declared by professionals, which shows where there is provocative fraud. For example:

* for liquor selling services, businessmen declared an annual average at barely 5.212 euros
* for entertainment services (including musicians and dj’s) the average declared income was 8.635 euros
* for restaurant management it was 8.154
* the singing profession barely makes for 11.432 a year while the management of entertainment venues can barely get by on 10.507 euros per year.

SDOE officials say that similar targeting choices will come about for other professions and services.
