New census of civil servants with OECD stamp!

The ministry of Interior is going to collaborate with OECD to conduct a second census of civil servants, not aiming at quantity this time, but at quality.  

«We know exactly how many there are but we don’t know exactly what they do» says a member of the ministry.

In a series of transfers and postings that will occur in the public sector in order for it to function effectively, the minister of Interior, Yannis Ragousis, decided to activate an old and «forgotten» agreement of the Ministry with OECD.

Indeed, the ministry might have conducted a census of public servants, the first in the history of the neo-Hellenic State, but their numbers are not sufficient for successful transfers. OECD will record the data of the public employees.

In the same context, the minister stated in a meeting with journalists that one of the legislative initiatives of the next year will be the overall reconstruction of transfers.

It should be noted that according to the census, which was completed on July 30, the number of public servants reached 768.009.
 

Everything is ready for «Kallikratis»

In the same meeting, Ragousis expressed his satisfaction for the way the preparations were conducted.

Many of the crucial points and details are already completed, such as presidential decrees, ministerial decisions, seminars for new municipality leaders, stamps etc.

Finally, the ministry has created a web page for «Kallikratis», where county and municipal actions, the relevant laws, decrees etc are uploaded. The page is www.kallikratis.ypes.gr; meanwhile, the 1500 phone number will be operative for citizen information.
