UPD:
The Prime Minister Giorgos Papandreou is calling PASOK's parliamentary
group to a meeting this Saturday, on matters concerning the parliament
discussion on the Hellenic budget and the objections raised by party
parliament members against serious government policy facets.
Mr. Papandreou is expected to underline the seriousness of this period for the success or failure of the economic stability program and also ask for solidarity on this matter.
The Prime Minister hopes that he will obtain positive outcomes from the European Union meeting in Brussels or at least, that during the meeting he will be able to announce hopeful findings on combating the fiscal crisis.
Mr. Papandreou's coworkers, including high-ranking officials of the party, proceeded to act in good faith towards the parliamentary team, proposing frequent meetings and rapport on governmental policy making, so that parliament members do not feel left out of the whole process and develop the feeling of just being pawns on a chessboard.
On their part, more and more parliament members made it clear to their leader that they will not abide by bad conduct and surprise decisions in the future, which the government has already demonstrated on both the law-making and fiscal sectors of government-policy setting.
