Mr. Chrisochoidis has new plans for the Committee of Business Competition
New legislation is at hand that will impose stricter fines on all persons and companies that are failing to comply with the rules of the national market.

There will be easier procedures for solving business legal issues, and all persons invloved in Committees that check the market will be selected based on stricter criteria.

The Committee of Business Competition will be fortified and more members will be invloved. There will be a change as to how these persons are selected and employed, with many rules that will eliminate candidates with a possible conflict of interest.

By means of new rules, the Committee will be faster in making decisions and giving out fines, there will be absolute transparency in fighting corruption and stricter fines will be imposed on businesses and persons that do not comply with the Committee's instructions.

Opposition parliament member and former Minister Kostis Hatzidakis reacted against the new legislation, since he believes that these decisions are not the right ones and the fact the Minister will be able to interfere in the Committee's decisions might lead to a lack of objectivity and free will of the Committee members. He characteristically said that "the goal of the Minister for a reduction of prices by at least 10% has not become a reality yet, and products are still expensive".
