They want us to accept them into the EU as the...Macedonian Democracy
UPD:
Foreign Minister of Skopje, Antonio Milososki, has sent a letter to his counterpart in the Greek government, Dimitris Droutsas, in which he asks for support on Skopje's bid to join the EU. This move has been made prior to the Ministerial meeting of the EU and the European Council which will take place in mid-December.
Mr. Milososki's letter was made public by Skopje's Foreign Ministry. In it, the Minister mentions that the EU only recently revitalized the talks with Skopje, on what concerns the latter joining the EU, thus admitting to Skopje's efforts and, according to the Minister, reassuring Europeans that Skopje is ready to face the challenges of the next part of the negotiations.
"This situation is unbearable both for a candidate-country that in the next month will establish full trade ties with the EU, in the framework of the Association and Stabilisation Agreement, and for the credibility of the EU and the enlargement policy," Milososki stated.
He also highlighted that : "With such a step we will also give a boost, together, to the necessary positive climate of mutual trust in the relations between us for an ultimate resolution of the final bilateral difference, a viable solution that is accepted by both countries and peoples for the benefit of regional and European stability and prosperity,"
