30 days, 20 laws and 15bil euros…
Hot fights at DEKO, health, tax and labor issues and the opening up of closed professions, with the pharmacists first in line

The Government has engaged in a battle against time on burning fronts. In a extended meeting on Wednesday the general secretaries from all the ministries under their counterpart from the ministry of Finance, Ilias Plaskovitis, decided upon the tight timetables during which all the changes demanded by thedTroika must be implemented.
However, all this is foreshadowing vast conflicts in State, DEKO, labor, taxes and Health…
But at the same time, 3 floors below in the Ministry of Finance, there was another parallel meeting on future changes in the closed professions. According to sources, the opening up of the pharmacists’ profession is a first priority, while that of the notary is paused, as a balance is sought between the provision of the Community Law, what the Memorandum calls for and what the Government wants.
During the next 30 days, express procedures must be implemented – clearly stated by Mr Plaskovitis – to promote more than 20 laws and decisions to be voted upon until March, in order to secure the 15bil euro installment, but also to persuade the member-states to extend the period for repayment of the 110bil loan to 2024.
The major clash is expected at DEKO, the developmental municipality operations and Health since by the end of December there will have to be:
* a plan of restructuring urban transportation and the implementation of the OSE restructuring plan
* a plan for saving 800mil euros in DEKO

* implementation of new legislation, pending since September.
The changes of the labor issues in the private sector are a special chapter, with new legislation to be submitted before the new year for the prevalence of business contracts, despite the reaction this will cause.
