India: He was carrying 13000 euros' worth of gold in his stomach
A 63 year-old man is the protagonist of the peculiar incident
Doctors who operated on a 63 year-old man in India, who suffered from terrible stomach pains, were faced with an unexpected revelation.
As it emerged during the operation, the surgeons found 12 small gold bars weighing about 400 grams in the man's stomach.
They estimate that the 63 year old man attempted to smuggle it in India in order to avoid paying duty taxes.
Their value, based on current prices, is estimated at around 13000 euros.
The 63 year old man, however, has admitted nothing to the doctors, claiming only that he had swallowed a plastic water bottle cap.
