U.S. Vice President to visit the Ukraine today
The visit will last two days
Joe Biden, VP of the U.S. will be travelling to Kiev today, as announced by the White House.
During his visit, Biden will be meeting with Ukrainian transitional president Oleksandr Turchynov and transitional Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Biden will arrive in Kiev on Monday afternoon.
The US VP’s program includes contacts with members of the Rada, the Ukrainian Parliament, different parties an regions and representatives of NGOs.
During these meetings, Biden will “discuss the efforts of the international community in order to help stabilize and reinforce the Ukrainian economy and help the Ukraine to move forward with the amendment of the Constitution, decentralization, in efforts to combat corrupt and conduct free and fair presidential elections on May 25th”, according to the statement.
“The Vice president will also consult on the latest development in eastern Ukraine on moves in order to improve the short and long-term energy security of the Ukraine”.
