Four people were seriously injured in the small town of Oia in Santorini, when a firecracker "exploded" in the crowd. The injured were hurriedly transported to Venizelos Hospital in Heraklion, Crete with a private aircraft.

A few minutes after the Resurrection, the unknown offender threw the firecracker, which contained a large quantity of gunpowder in the courtyard of the church of Our Lady of the Akathist Hymn in Oia, Santorini.

As a result of the explosion, three foreigners (51, 53 and 54 years old), U.S. nationals and a 50 year old Greek were seriously injured. The 50 year old was injured in the eye while the tourists have wounds all over their bodies. Apart from the seriously injured, three more people suffered minor injuries.

The police have already launched a manhunt for the person who threw the firecracker in the courtyard of the church, among the crowd.

The four slightly wounded - two young Cypriots and two Greeks 50 and 23 year-old - were transferred to the health center and after they were provided first aid they returned to their homes.
