IPTO: Invitation to show interest, publicized

The call for expressions of interest from the PPC to sell 66% of its stake in the Independent Electric Transmission Operator has been published.

Interested parties must submit their documents of interent until the 9th of May, and the PPC will proceed with preselection. During the second phase, the candidates will be invited to submit binding offers.

The call for proposals is addressed to individual companies with experience in managing networks as well as consortiums and funds. Interested parties will have to possess 350 million euro of capital or above, based on their last three years financial statements. They must also have 3 years' worth of experience during the last five years in development, management, operations and maintenance of networks similar to the IETO. Funds without experience can participate, as long as they allow the public sector to manage it for five years.

It is estimated that interest will be shown by several network operators such as Italian Terna, Belgian Elia, Chinese Cinai State Grid as well as European and US pension funds since the IETO's stable yields make it an attractive investment.
