Fotis Kaimenakis replaces Baltakos
Fotis Kaimenakis, previously chairman of the Central Legislative Committee and Supreme Court honorary member, is the new general secretary of the cabinet, replacing Takis Baltakos, who resigned after the publication of a video showing him conversing with Golden Dawn MP Elias Kasidiaris.
Prime Minister. A Samaras had stated that he did not know about the video, adding, however, that if everything is true, “Mr. Baltakos does not belong in government”.
The new secretary was born in 1940 in Astakos. He joined the judiciary on June 29th 1972 and was promoted to the supreme court on October 11th, 2011.
Mr. Kaimenakis, as president of the legislative committee had rejected the anti-racism bill as unconstitutional, since he insisted that the existing legislative framework covered all provisions.
