Kyriakos Mitsotakis: We will achieve the target of 15,000 layoffs in 2014
Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the taxation of citizens in 2013 as excessive because as he said it amassed many taxes from previous years and described the primary surplus as the big weapon in the negotiation with the troika.

"We are in the final stage of completion of an assessment circle. If the circle is closed the country will not need a new memorandum as we knew with stifling quarterly inspections. We are accustomed to the negotiations and tensions," the minister told Skai.

"The end of the memorandum will come when we end the debate on the debt with the certification of the primary surplus. The memorandum was the result of the bankruptcy of the country," he noted.

About the scenario of Greece’s exit to the markets Mitsotakis said that it is something that "might be done in the second half of '14. No one can exclude it."

According to Mitsotakis the goal of 15,000 layoffs by the end of 2014 "will be achieved."

For the issue of mobility, Mitsotakis said that "there are employees who are under availability and will not be reinstated" and talked about the "absorption of more than 500 school guards in hospitals."

"Mobility should not be associated with layoffs. From '15 we will not accept any more mobility linked to layoffs," he said, expressing his opposition to the form of mobility applicable in his days.
