According to what has emerged so far from the investigative research:
- the Golden Dawn organization was founded in the early 80s by leader Nikos Michaloliakos with a small number of like-minded people. Its character was that of ideological guidance to National Socialism with clear references to the Third Reich, Hitler and the SS
- GD has a vertical hierarchical structure on which it operates all these years with distribution of tasks and responsibilities related to the dissemination of ideas and positions and the training of its members
- members of each local branch are allegedly called for each action or event with SMS messages with confidential status as revealed from the lifting of telephone secrecy of those already accused
Lastly, Klapa and Dimitropoulou refer to witness statements that show the way the organization operated and make reference to specific criminal acts, including the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, an attempted murder in Perama, an attack against Egyptian fishermen at the wharf in Perama, attack against foreigners in Ierapetra, attacks on Afghans, etc.
The request also records the weapons found in the houses of MPs who appear not only as official spokesmen of the organization but also as supporters of the ideas of its members.
