Dijsselbloem: Decisions on a new aid package for Greece will come after the European elections
Decisions for Greece will be taken after the European elections, Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem said noon Monday, coming to the Eurogroup meeting in Brussels.

He added that if the assessment for Greece closes positively, the decision for a new aid “can wait for after the European elections,” and reiterated that European officials will first need to see the validation of the fiscal data by Eurostat in April.

He also said that the eurozone will decide on a new program for Greece, if it is necessary, while for the timing of this decision, he replied "after the summer. It could be in September," adding that the IMF agrees with this position.

As he said, if all the conditions of Greek program are met, the next tranches of the loans will be approved before May. "This will fund Greece until August. So there is no reason to hurry, based on data from Eurostat, and take new decisions."

Lastly, when asked about the Greek debt Dijsselbloem said that it should be reduced, but the question is who will do it and how. "This is something we will discuss after the summer."
