ELSTAT: 1.4% inflation in January
Deflation in the Greek economy continues
According to ELSTAT (Hellenic Statistical Authority), the development of the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in January 2014 is configured as follows:
The HICP in January 2014 compared to the corresponding index in January 2013 fell by 1.4% compared with the zero change in the same comparison of 2013 to 2012. It should be noted that inflation, as announced Friday, amounts to -1.5% in the same period.
The HICP in January 2014 compared to December 2013 decreased by 0.9%, compared to a decrease of 1.4% in the previous year.
The average HICP of the 12 months from February 2013 to January 2014 compared to the same index of the 12 months from February 2012 to January 2013 decreased by 1.0%, compared to an increase of 0.9% in the corresponding previous twelve months.
