Venizelos: Next big claim is the restructuring of business loans
Evangelos Venizelos highlighted the restructuring of business loans as the next bet for the Greek government, noting that the primary residence of the poor and middle households will have full assurance.

Speaking in parliament during the debate of the bill for auctions he said that "having a constant and unyielding position as a government, we are voting a legislation that enshrines the primary residence of the poor and middle household. In fact no one is left out. The data from the Bank of Greece show that 1.5% of debtors are the main borrowers and owe 50% of total debt for mortgages. We all understand how easy it is to protect the 98% of debtors."

He pointed out that "the problem of banks is not the consumer and mortgage loans," and that the bank policy is not consistent with aggressive tactics to the borrowers.

Addressing the opposition he said: "The fact that we have succeeded in this negotiation disappointed those who invest in disaster."

Finally, Venizelos said the negotiations on the issue of auctioning "were very difficult. The recognition of the sacrifices must be substantial and not rhetoric. Greece is not asking for favors from its creditors but for authoritative political and institutional interlocutors who can understand its social situation."
