Mitsotakis: The 11,000 layoffs for 2014 will come from those under suspension
The 4,000 layoffs will come from ERT, perjurer employees, staff cuts in defense industries and interventions in small and medium private legal entities
The 4,000 layoffs by the end of the year will come from ERT, perjurer employees, staff cuts in defense industries and interventions to small and medium private legal entities, Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told Real FM earlier.
For the 11,000 layoffs, which according to Troika, should be made in 2014, he said they will come in part from the suspension program, acceleration of disciplinary administration of justice and the limitation in size of private legal entities. "The Greek taxpayer can not pay private entities that operate with more staff than necessary," he stressed.
He added that there is no withdrawal of the government as to the number of university employees who will be suspended, while referring to the inter-municipal mobility said that this was an opportunity for municipalities to move staff from overstaffed municipalities to municipalities with shortages.
For the cooperation of the Ministry of Administrative Reform with OECD, Mitsotakis said it is a complex exercise aiming at identifying administrative burdens on businesses and that the interventions will eliminate administrative burdens from the Greek business community and in particular the small and medium entrepreneurs.
