Mitsotakis: 4,000 layoffs by the end of the year
Interventions to public entities for another 1,000 layoffs - Shrinking personnel in defense industries - SYRIZA gave us a great gift
Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the no confidence motion of SYRIZA against the government is a "gift", and that 4,000 more layoffs will have to come by the end of year there.
"The Memorandum provides for 15,000 layoffs by the end of 2014. There need to be 4,000 layoffs by the end of 2013," Mitsotakis told Mega tv. He added that there will have to be interventions in public entities for another 1,000 layoffs, and spoke of shrinking the personnel of defense industries.
He also said that "employees of the municipal police who were suspended will staff the Finance Ministry, the Police and prisons," and argued that the mobility measure will "take into account criteria such as locality. We will have a good spread of people who will enter the mobility program."
SYRIZA gave us a great gift
Mitsotakis moved against the opposition, on the occasion of the no-confidence motion, saying "SYRIZA gave us a great gift. The government will get the votes it needs and will establish governmental majority. You file a no-confidence motion because you want to throw a government. But you must be ready to govern. With what positions? We haven’t heard a thing," he added, and wondered where Tsipras wants to lead the country with this move, if it is not a "communicative firework."
