New power outage this morning in Santorini due to damage in the network.
As Santorini Mayor Nicholas Zorzos told Skai 100.3 FM, the problem resulted from a short circuit in the network outside the power plant. He added that the power has already begun running again in some areas of the island, and the problem is expected to be fully restored at about 10.30.
Zorzos said he had assurances that there would be no more problems with the electricity after repairing the damage left Santorini without power for nearly a week.
But deputy mayor Markos Kafouros, speaking at Mega, said this was an unexpected event and talked about a huge gap on the issue of information.
