As Eurostat announced, unemployment in Greece reached 26.9% - Greece first among young people with 58.7%

EU: Sad lead in unemployment for Greece
Greece still holds the sad lead among member-states of the EU in the field of unemployment, and is followed by Spain.

As Eurostat announced yesterday, unemployment in Greece was at 26.9% in April 2013, while in Spain, where there are signs of reversing the upward trend in unemployment, it stood at 26.3% in June 2013.

On average, during June 2013 unemployment in the Eurozone was at 12.1%, while in the EU at 10.9%.

Regarding unemployment among young people, Greece is also at the top with 58.7% against 23.9% in the Eurozone.

The lowest unemployment rates in the EU (approximately 5%) are in Austria, Germany and Luxembourg.
