Despite the obstacles raised by Germany, Greece is confident that during today’s meeting session of the EWG, Greece’s European partners will green light the disbursement of the tranche of 2.5 billion euros to Greece.

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble appeared negative once again with his statements yesterday, denying the fulfillment of the prerequisites, but Greek economic team members said they are not worried.

Although Schaeuble acknowledged that the disbursement of the tranche to Greece has delayed due to Troika, which has not issued a report on the state of the Greek economy, he argued that the Greek government has not implemented 5 of the 22 prerequisite measures agreed upon at the Eurogroup meeting on July 8.

Finance ministry members, however, insisted that with the filing of the bill for the Fiscal Procedure Code yesterday in the Greek Parliament, and the publication in the Government Gazette of the multi-bill that was passed last week, there are no loose ends to justify further delays.
