Troika demanded new changes in the labor market raising the issue of facilitating the collective layoffs.
At the meeting this morning with Labour Minister Yannis Vroutsis, the representatives of Greece’s lenders asked to change the procedures for collective layoffs until December 2013 and to remove any “typical” barriers established by law as the signature of a Labour Minister in order to approve removals beyond the permissible limit.
The Thomsen group asked for the “modernization” of the framework in line with European data but did not insist on raising the number of layoffs which currently remains at 5% per month for large enterprises.
According to information, the Troika representatives did not raise the issue of reduction of pensions and minimum wages.
As Labour Minister Yannis Vroutsis said, the issue of the 1-per thousand contributions on the turnover of businesses for the Insurance Organization of Self-Employed (OAEE) will be discussed at an economic team level because it is a political decision.
