DIMAR: We will discuss with ERT open

Democratic Left (DIMAR) President Fotis Kouvelis will attend the upcoming meeting of the three political leaders Monday at 6 pm under the condition of canceling the legislative act regarding ERT. Following the unanimous approval of his presentation by his party, he will confirm the stance adopted in recent days on the issue of ERT.

The party bodies of the Democratic Left agreed not to give a vote of confidence to the government if asked for one, nor vote the relevant draft bill of New Democracy if public television is not reopened first. As pointed out by Kouvellis in his speech at the meeting of party bodies, the Democratic Left does not want elections and so they will blame the leadership of ND if they are finally launched.

Also, there were constant contacts yesterday between DIMAR and PASOK members to form a common front against ND. Kouvelis is going to require equal treatment of government parties if the crisis is overcome.

In this context, DIMAR members have already made contributions to pressure the Greek Prime Minister towards a reshuffle that will involve its political members. As noted, if there is no agreement "the Democratic Left is ready for elections for a long time now".
