Greece will proceed with a small bond issue in 2014, attempting to return to the markets.

Speaking to the Reuters news agency, the Greek Finance Minister announced the country's return to the markets after 4 years. Asked whether this will happen in the first or second half of 2014, he said he does not know.

"The interest payments have fallen sharply, a lot of them have been transferred for the future and so the issuing will be small," Stournaras said.

Asked whether the discussion about the Grexit should stop, he replied "I think so. We have made great efforts to avoid exiting the euro and now they are bearing results."

He reiterated that the country still has not come out of the "tunnel" but "things are going well, according to the plan."

Earlier, he had expressed disagreement about OECD’s economic outlook for Greece, speaking on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Organization in Paris. "I think the number will come out wrong and we will be right. I believe that GDP will be slightly lower than a positive +1."

Replying to a question about the negative rate -1.2 of GDP, provided in the OECD report for 2014 and the recession it implies, Stournaras said "we disagree with this figure. The European Commission and the IMF disagree as well."
