"Profiling" of all bank accounts

The Greek Finance ministry's bill, to be tabled until Thursday in parliament, will provide for a register of bank accounts, which will form the backbone of the electronic property register.

Pretty soon the tax authorities will learn very easily the height and moves of all deposits without requiring a court order or other special procedures as "TA NEA" newspaper says.

According to these provisions the relevant authorities will create an online platform for data sharing in the General Secretariat of Information Systems, which will contain the banking data of persons checked for illegal actions.

Following the request of the supervisory services in the ministry of Finance, banks will be forced through the platform to communicate on a set time point all data of depositors involved in illegal activities.

For suspected tax evasion the registry will be updated daily and for all other depositors the updates will come once a year.
