PASOK president Evangelos Venizelos and his predecessor George Papandreou have discussed to meet today, Tuesday.
The agony about the need to find a solution so that the situation does not become uncontrollable, comes from both sides, but mostly from Papandreou. He does not hide his discomfort and concern about the turn of events. The data revealed for luxury spending and provocative political party life for many years, risk to extinguish any prestige Papandreou still preserves in the ranks of the party, while many fear that judicial authorities will get involved in the end.

On Sunday afternoon, he did not hesitate to invade the parliament office of Papandreou’s close associate Regina Vartzeli, when he realized that former PASOK MP Markos Bolaris was in there talking with her, as he had personally criticised the president of party. Venizelos believes that many on Papandreou’s side undermine him and working towards his failure.
PASOK president is accepting suggestions to tone down on the finances of the party, as the shaking of the issue can wear out the current leadership as well. Venizelos does not want to look possessed by some kind of revanchism, so he will bring back earlier proposals for the transparency of party finances, mainly that all parties must face audits and disclosure of data and that certain rules should be set for the proper and transparent management of funds received from the State budget.
