SYRIZA’s reaction to the announcement of PM Antonis Samaras was intense, as it refers to the "new criminal measures" Samaras decided together with troika and ads he is "the only one who sees stabilization and strengthening of the country where everybody else sees the wreckage of grossly unfair and ineffective memorandum policies."
It adds that "the only thing Samaras is right about, is that in a while Greece will not depend on memoranda nor on him for its salvation."
SYRIZA also attempts to deconstruct Samaras’ arguments one by one the, saying:
- the prime minister talks about tax cuts when he makes the predatory overtaxation of the weaker and middle class permanent through the PPC hike
- he is boasting that the VAT reduction in catering will be examined in June, which he had personally committed that would materialize immediately after the elections
- he spoke about settings for indebted households, while what has seen the light of day leaves out those who truly are unable to meet their obligations, while moving along the logic of safeguarding the interests of banks

- he refers to the reduction of public debt not only when it cannot become viable, but when its restructuring by the infamous PSI resulted in the looting of pension funds, which he intends to finish with the recapitalization of banks
- he prides itself on 15,000 hirings of new civil servants but diligently forgets that these come in place of the 150,000 jobs that will be lost by the end of 2015, according to the memorandum commitments. Only in the mind of our PM the State mutilation constitutes its "qualitative upgrade"
- Samaras forgot to mention that under his government, Greece became champions in unemployment in Europe and among the top three countries in terms of the extent of poverty
- he dares call the exhausting memorandum measures of austerity and dismantling of workers rights as reforms “that should have been done for decades.”
