PPC tariffs increase from 8.6 to 9.2%

According to official announcements made today by the Environment ministry (YPEKA) PPC tariffs that retroactively apply from January 1 will increase from 8.6 to 9.2%. For commercial, industrial and agricultural uses, increases will range from 10 to 12%.

It is possible that during the first half of the year there will be further increases in the context of the government’s commitment that charges reflect the costs of production and in view of the deregulation of tariffs by July 1. The RES fee that ranges from 9% as of January 1 should be included in the price increases announced today.

The increases in electricity tariffs are accompanied by expansion of the domestic social tariff, which amounts to 42% lower than the new domestic PPC tariff and will cover the entire consumption of beneficiaries, as well as the adoption of the new electricity supply code recommended by RAE (Regulatory Authority for Energy) in order to safeguard the interests of electricity consumers.
