We will restore salaries under one law, Tsipras pledges

In a speech to Larco employees earlier today, SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras launched an unprecedented attack against the government.

He clarified that he will not allow the selling off of public property, warning investors that the government is hanging by a thread.

"Once, an historic leader of the Left in the Greek Parliament, Ilias Iliou, said "we will bombard them with legitimacy." That is what we will do now. Athanasopoulos' appointment at TAIPED is illegal because even with the laws that they themselves voted for, he needed a wider majority from the relevant parliament committee in order to get appointed. But he did not have it. And of course when laws do not favor their decisions, tough luck for the laws. They are doing the same thing with the Constitution."

"So let's start the countdown for the fall of this governement, not give them the keys of the country. For two years now they have been destroying Greece. Salaries and pensions can be restored. It is a matter of political judgment and strong negotiation, which they do not have on a European level because they have a hold on them, because they are the ones on Christoforakos’ lists, they are the ones who keep the lists of major depositors in Switzerland."

Speaking of crimes on the part of the tri-party government, Tsipras argued that most of them, the greater ones, are not cuts in wages and pensions, because as he said "we will restore them under one law when we find ourselves, with the help of the people, in a position of governance to reverse this disaster. The biggest crime is that they want to sell off what is left of our national wealth, so as not to leave anything to the government of social salvation that will soon take over towards a productive restructuring," he added.

The SYRIZA president continued by saying that "the creditors want the mineral wealth of Greece and those who govern are unaware, unconcerned about this huge national financial crime. They were annoyed that a week ago I gave an interview to a German newspaper. I said that I would not allow the sellout of our national wealth. Not only will I not stop giving interviews and shouting throughout Greece and Europe that we will stop this sellout, but we will also try to prevent the illegal activity of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) in any way possible."
