After yesterday's developments the Greek terms to accept the new memorandum have been configured as follows:
- not to let the Troika insist on its demands concerning labour issues
- to withdraw Schauble’s demand for a special account
- to increase the recession prediction so that no additional measures will be needed in the future
- to extend the fiscal adjustment program by 2 years
- to change the year (2020) set as a limit for the viability of the Greek debt according to the EU rules
These terms were discussed in communications between PM Samars, Venizelos and Fotis Kouvelis late last night. The common objective is to build a package deal that can be passed by the parliament, because it is clear that if the Troika insists on unreasonable demands, the only thing it will get is the fall of the government and Greece's default.
Earlier today, however, DIMAR member Dimitris Chatzisokratis told reporters during a televised interview that his party supports and will continue to support the government.
