All will be judged at a special Eurogroup in November

Talks between the government and the Troika will continue after the Summit on October 18, as an agreement will probably not have been reached by then.

Finance minister Yiannis Stournaras met with PM Samaras at midday and said that the talks are at a satisfactory level but there is a huge workload. After the meeting at Maximos Mansion, he had the following exchange with journalists:

Journalist: What did you discuss with the prime minister?

Stournaras: I briefed him on the course of our negotiations. They will continue until the Summit and beyond.

J: So nothing will close by the Summit?

S: I do not think so. We are trying, but I do not think we will do it.

J: Is it possible for the measures to be voted on next week?

S: The measures will be voted on after the approval of the Eurogroup.

J: When will that happen?

S: We do not know yet.

J: So the time limit for you is still the time of the tranche disbursement early in November?

S: The disbursement will come in late November. Thank you.

According to information, everything will be judged at a special Eurogroup early in November, with Greece hoping to receive the tranche by the middle of that month.

A member of the Finance ministry said that "it is unlikely that the measures will be finalised before the Summit on October 18. The negotiations are on a good track, but there are many unresolved issues. We are close to agreement on structural and financial matters but we still have open issues on financing, the gap with the Troika and the report on he sustainability of the Greek debt."

Tomorrow, Samaras will inform the political leaders on the recent developments, as he is leaving on Wednesday for the meeting of the European People's Party in Bucharest, and on Thursday he will be in Brussels for the Summit.
