Government in doubt about authenticity of Lagarde list
According to a document submitted to parliament by State minister Dimitris Stamatis, Maximos Mansion forwarded the electronic file containing the Lagarde list to the Electronic Crime Unit.
UPD:
According to a document submitted to parliament by State minister Dimitris Stamatis, Maximos Mansion forwarded the electronic file containing the Lagarde list to the Electronic Crime Unit.
Replying to a question by independent MP Nikos Nikolopoulos, Stamatis said "when he received the file with the USB stick from Evangelos Venizelos, Antonis Samaras sent it to the Electronic Crime Unit for further legal action."
Thus, the government officially answers the question whether it was concerned about the possibility of the original content of the electronic file having been tampered with.
Until today it was said that there was communication between the financial crime prosecutors and the head of the Electronic Crime Unit resulting in the doubts about the list’s authenticity being located only in the field of justice. This document clarifies that the government also questions the authenticity of the file submitted by Venizelos.
The questions raised by Nikolopoulos to the State minister include: "Does the government know about the handover process between Samaras and Venizelos? How many names are on the USB stick? Is it genuine or not? Were any names and deposit information removed? Can it substitute the official CD sent from France to Greece in order to close the case?"
