Greece will roast yet again
The temperature in most parts of the country is expected to get overwhelmingly hot, reaching 39C and in places even 40C this coming Monday.
Many say that this summer has been one of the hottest in the recent history of the country.
Saturday will be the least boiling day with 37-38C in Attica, Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Sterea, the Peloponnese, Thessaly and Evia, while from Sunday onwards things are expected to get worse. Also on Sunday, cloudy patches will be part of the overall picture, mainly in the mainland, during the afternoon hours. The beginning of next week is going to be unpleasant, with a stuffy atmosphere and the temperature topping 39C.
Tuesday, however, will be slightly easier as it will be around 36-38C.
This weekend signals the time when many Greeks begin their holiday break but traffic is not heavy on the national highways.
Also, in the Piraeus port there is a 15% drop in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year.
