«Immediate formation of a government of national rescue»

"Greece must be governed and it will be so," ND president Antonis Samaras said and called on all forces that agree with his objectives to participate in a government of national rescue.

"The Greek people voted for the European course and our stay in the euro. They voted for policies that will bring jobs, growth and justice to the Greek citizen. There won’t be any more adventures, and Greece's position in Europe will not be questioned again. It is an important moment for Greece and Europe. We call on all forces that share these goals to participate in a government of national rescue.

The country must be governed. The government should bring growth. We will respect the commitments and the signature of the country. The state has continuity and consistency. The people honored us with their vote and I want to thank them. I promise that I will fully honor the confidence they have shown to us. We will work with our European partners to complete the economic policy with growth and by tackling unemployment. Our goal is to get out of the crisis with social cohesion, jobs, justice and safety. ND was and is a force of responsibility."
