Venizelos: The country cannot be governed only by ND and PASOK

Speaking on Mega TV, the PASOK president asked people to weigh their vote, break the artificial dipole and vote for PASOK as the third pole.

Asked whether there can be a government composed only by ND and PASOK, he said that the country cannot be governed only by these two parties with all the others opposite them, not only in parliament but also on the streets, while there are important and binding decisions to be made for the future of the country.

Speaking at an event regarding sports at the PASOK headquarters, he said that the flirting with the past is dangerous and that our vision cannot be statism, trade unions, the rejection of any change and the return to the past.

"This is not the repetition of the great endeavor ​​by Andreas Papandreou and PASOK in 1974. Because whoever thinks history repeats itself, they obviously do not know that history repeats itself as a farce, a bad farce at the expense of the people and against the nation."

He pointed out the need "to rebuild the democratic faction and see what a European Center-Left means."

The PASOK president then attacked ND by saying that "while we were in government, we had a domestic front to deal with as well, because the country was on a long pre-election period since ND was pushing for elections before we could finish the agreement and reduce the debt."

He described the position that the loan agreement leads the country outside the euro as a fallacy  and presented as a solution the election of PASOK as the third pole which will ensure the government of shared national responsibility.
