"If we come first we will be able to form with others a majority of 151 MEPs," SYRIZA MP Dimitris Papadimoulis said on SKAI morning television. "So we will pass as an act to cancel the memorandum, and not as an act of impression," he added.

To the journalist's questions and the comments of the Democratic Left representative that the cancellation of the memorandum by law is a unilateral act, Papadimoulis replied that "whoever does not want to work will always look for an excuse."

The issue of the memorandum’s cancellation, which is a fixed position of the Communist Party, was raised by KKE member Nikos Bogiopoulos and was adopted by Papadimoulis.

The SYRIZA MP again invited the Communist Party and the Democratic Left to form a government of the Left on June 18 and argued that the dilemma after the new elections will be "either a government that will implement the memorandum with a main body consisting of ND forces, or a government that will challenge and cancel the memorandum with its main body consisting of SYRIZA forces."
