Kouvelis closes the door on cooperation

Fotis Kouvelis stressed that DIMAR will proceed on the basis of its pre-election and programmatic commitments towards disengagement from the memorandum and staying in the European Union, rejecting a priori the possibility of consenting to whichever coalition government persists with the current policies.

"We will not contribute to the continuation of policies which lead the people and society into squalor," he stressed characeristically and interpreting the election result, he noted that "the Greek people have spoken and condemned the political forces which drove the country to the current impasse and the policies of the memorandum."

"A change of policy is in order," Kouvelis underlined, with growth and the protection of labour rights as the top priorities.

Finally, he also expressed his grave concern about the presence of the Golden Dawn party in Parliament.
