“The vote of the citizen is the top moment of democracy”, said Lucas Papademos a short while after he cast his ballot at the 30th High School of Athens, in the area of Kypseli.
“We all agree that these elections are perhaps the most crucial ones”, underlined Papademos and continued, saying that, “today, every single one of us will decide not only who will govern the country, but also what the course of Greece will be in the coming decades”.
When asked by journalists if he believes a government will be formed, the outgoing prime minister gave a positive answer, saying “I believe that yes, it will”.
Many were surprised by the fact that Papademos remained for long inside the polling booth.
