Kouvelis: Proposal to the progressive forces under certain terms

In his speech at Heraklion which ended his pre-election campaign, Democratic Left president Fotis Kouvelis spoke of "a programmatic proposal to the progressive forces under certain terms."

He described the Sunday elections as critical. "The Greek people have the ability and hold in their hands the decision whether our country will proceed with a different policy, a progressive policy, which can lead to an exit from the crisis, but with a living society."

"We want the country to have a progressive government. If the Greek people enable us to get the order from the president of democracy to form a government, we will reach out to the progressive forces with a specific proposal to develop a programmatic agreement," Kouvelis said among other things.

 However, he added that this proposal has two red lines.

"This proposal has two terms, from which we can not turn back. One is the disengagement of the memorandum settings and the second, the policy that steadily holds the country in the Eurozone and the euro."
