Red alert for PASOK

Evangelos Venizelos will speak at an open gathering in Syntagma Square tonight in a final effort to rally the traditional voters of PASOK and reverse the apparent negative image of the party.

This gathering is a big challenge for the leadership of PASOK, which in the last 24 hours has mobilized its central body and the available forces in the organizations of the Attica basin in order to convince voters to respond to the call.

They are placing their hopes on the pride of the party basis and believe that even at the last minute the positive reflexes of the party voters will finally show. They believe that there is a part of the electoral base of PASOK that lies "dormant", which will manifest itself in the polls and is just waiting for the last 24 hours to determine its attitude.

"A good and dynamic gathering in Syntagma" can act as a catalyst for changing the climate in favor of PASOK, they say in an attempt to motivate party members in charge of the mobilisation.

"Despite objections, despite reservations, come with us. Let’s finish this huge national effort to finally get out of the memorandum and the crisis. Let’s once again make Greece proud and equal in Europe," Evangelos Venizelos said in Rhodes on Thursday evening.
 
"You, Greek citizen, hold in your hands the future of the next generation and the one after that. Do not indulge in demagoguery and populism. This demagoguery and populism are to blame and we as well, we have our own share of responsibility for the plight of the country," the PASOK president told citizens.
