Efthimiou denounces attack by Chrysi Avgi members

Petros Efthιmiou was attacked by unknown individuals in Maroussi. During a meeting with residents in the centre of the district, the PASOK MP became the target of a group of youths who verbally attacked and threatened him.
 
According to his denouncement, these people are members of Chrysi Avgi. Efthιmiou immediately informed PASOK president Evangelos Venizelos.
 
The statement by PASOK spokesman, Fofi Gennimata, on the attack against Petros Efthimiou by Chrysi Avgi members:
 
"Forty five years after the enforcement of a coup d'etat by the colonels, Chrysi Avgi members chose April 21 to carry out violent acts at an event of PASOK candidate Petros Efthimiou.

The audacity of Chrysi Avgi was reinforced by the spreading conspiracy theories and the fat words of the reactionary forces. We call on all political forces to condemn such incidents and together create a front to protect democratic institutions. Even tolerance hatches the egg of the snake. We do not want to see Nazi greetings in the Greek parliament, or those who believe in violence and take the law into their own hand being rewarded. We must resist in unison."
