Resurrection with a view to elections

Political leaders are experiencing a short respite from the fiscal problems and their political confrontation in view of the elections on May 6th, leaving their HQ one after another, to spend their days in the midst of Easter family warmth.

President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias will traditionally be in his hometown of Ioannina. He is scheduled to follow the procession of the Epitaph in the Church of St. Nicholas of Leptokarya, in Zagoria, and on Easter Sunday he will be in the Second Commando Squadron in Naoussa, where he will exchange greetings with conscripts and attend the dinner given by the squadron commander.

Evangelos Venizelos will pass his time in Thessaloniki while Antonis Samaras has gone to Nafplio, where he will attend church.

According to reports, the General Secretary of the Communist Party will stay in Athens along with the president of LAOS Giorgos Karatzaferis. SYRIZA PG president Alexis Tsipras will visit Aegina island with his family.

According to reports, former PM George Papandreou will leave Kastri, but it is yet unclear if he will go to Ydra.

On his part, Kostas Karamanlis will be at Dolo, Ioannina. According to local news, his family will stay at Christoforos Kostaras’ estate this year. Dolo is the former PM's favourite destination.
