"My prosecution is a communicative election gift", says Tsohatzopoulos

In a written statement, Akis Tsohatzopoulos speaks of "a communicative pre-election gift" to the two major parties and a unique concoction of political persecution.

He accuses the leaders of both major parties of agreeing to the fabrication of a single offender, himself, to shake off any of the responsibilities "their own ministers and their own people" have, and describes as unacceptable and insubstantial the accusation of passive bribery against him by the parliament.

Addressing the Greek people, he invited them to understand "the degeneration, decadence and dissolution of the political system that led the country to its current state of disintegration of social cohesion and disappearance of social solidarity, the citizens' rights and of Democracy itself."
