New Democracy considers PSI a positive development

New Democracy considers the PSI to be a positive development.

They note, however, that the PSI is a tool and does not mean complacency, while there is much to be done still and many reforms needed to stimulate development and enable the real economy.

“It is a positive development that things reached this point”, explained an ND executive, and added: “All of this just to achieve a debt at 120% in 2020; all this should have been avoided. That is why it is peculiar that those that led us here should be celebrating”.

For ND, the road to elections is now open. Mr. Antonis Samaras’ associates believe that there are still some procedures to be completed, pending the Eurogroup meeting next week and then the passing of the loan agreement. In any case, in ND they consider that by the end of the month or the beginning of April the date of the elections will be set, which will probably be within the first two weeks of May.
