UPD:
Dozens of local PASOK organizations have informed their central party office that they are unable to respond to internal party elections, due either to costs and organization problems or because of the reluctance of people to participate in the process!
The internal party opposition, in fact, insists that if polls are set up for the base of the party, there will be negative effects which will affect the image of the party; this will in turn influence the outcome of national elections.
This concern was conveyed during a meeting with party stakeholders held by PASOK President George Papandreou on Thursday.
The agenda of the meeting related to the preparation of the party in view of the National Conference and the change of leadership in PASOK. According to information, the PASOK National Conference, scheduled for March 3-4th was postponed for a week.
Also, the forthcoming Political Council of the party will decide the details of the succession; if the polls will be set up across Greece or if the succession will be decided on by the Party Congress.
We remind our readers that yesterday around 20 PASOK MPs held a meeting in a well-known Athens hotel in order to coordinate themselves in terms of supporting a common candidate for the succession in PASOK.
